New Cosmos Electric is home to the world’s largest research and development organization specializing in gas sensor technology.
Gas sensors represent our core expertise. At our premier research and manufacturing facility, the "COSMOS SENSOR CENTER," our development teams conduct basic research driven by original concepts to create innovative gas sensors. In addition to improving existing sensors—making them more compact and sensitive—we continue to expand into new fields, such as the development of specialized odor sensors.
New Cosmos Electric is committed to advancing gas sensor technology through strategic research and development partnerships across industry, academia, and government sectors.
We actively engage in collaborative projects to push the boundaries of sensor capabilities. Our initiatives include joint development with university institutions and hosting study meetings led by academic experts. Furthermore, we have a proven track record in developing sensors for hydrogen-fuel vehicles through contracts with NEDO.
Most recently, we have been collaborating with Ehime University on the development of high-precision odor sensors. We look forward to exploring further opportunities for innovation through joint research.

- KD-12 A/B/C is explosion-proof (Ex d IIC T5) specification. The KD-12 D /O /R is explosion-proof (Ex d IIB T5) specification.
